I figured there are a lot of extra little bits of advice that it would be handy to know, so consider this a little helpful list until I turn it into a better, more useful post. MYKI public transport tickets have a daily maximum fare. This means that if you ride once, it will cost you $4.40. If you ride a second time, it will cost you $8.80, but that will be the cap for the day. What this means is that if you get 200 different trams, trains or buses, this will be the maximum amount you will pay for the day.  Currency transfers can be expensive. If you are planning on being here for a few months even, there's a better way of doing things than to keep using your own cards/accounts from your home country. Open up an account with 'TRANSFERWISE', and you can use this as a local bank account and get your own card, or you can use it to send money to a local bank account which can be opened up.
